the nieces and nephews

talking to lydia and sarah it sounds like the girls have outfits
and the boys have little tuxedos
i'm so excited!
still a sad that brandon's/my other neices and nephews won't make it
but if we don't see them then, we will have to figure out how to see them soon
at new years we teased that we would see them next probably at the wedding
that was a good 5 months before we decided to get married though
georgia could be fun, i've never been there

the invitations are just about out
hopefully early this week
all printed and will be cut tomorrow
turned out really nice and we were able to be relatively frugal

i also found the most adorable dress to wear to the temple on the morning of the wedding
perhaps even to receive my endowments
we'll see it just occurred to me that i might need two dresses
i also went and got some new eye shadow for the big day

we all had fun seeing/meeting carol this last weekend
and had a chance to go shopping with her
and also to check out wedding flowers
we found a good florist that is also a friend from the stake

the experiment with the cheesecake for the wedding cake continues
so we will test that very soon to see if cheesecake will wilt in the heat

how insane is that
i'm getting married in 39 days...
weird, does anyone else remember when i was like 6 playing in the dirt with todd
man, i don't feel very old, but at the same time
i thought lydia and sarah were so old when they got married
the gown is so gorgeous
i can't wait to see how it looks when it is finished
we'll be going to utah at the end of the month for the final fitting
aunt carolyn is also throwing me a bridal shower then
for all of the family that will be in utah
then i'll have the ward one in california and a little bachelorette night out
mom thinks i already have too many cute undergarments (wink!)
then dad comments about whether you can have too much of a good thing
ha, i love our family
the jazz band is all committed and we'll sign a contract with them this week
any suggestions for jazzy songs?
we still don't know what OUR song is
we have like 10 different sentimental songs, but none quite fit for our first dance
they said they would learn tim mcgraw's "my little girl" for the father daughter song
i should probably see if jared will really sing it
we only talked about it once
if anyone has a good idea of where to look for housing
we are struggling to find an apartment
wish us luck as we both re submit our portfolios
brandon is going for the program and i want a scholarship
considering our finances are a bit tight to say the least

he popped the question in carmel on the beach!!

so here it is
totally 100% official ring on my finger and all
and it was WORTH THE WAIT
oh my brandon is amazing
he kidnapped me on saturday morning and took me to breakfast both in our pjs
at our favorite, mimis cafe
then we got packed and ready and went to the bay area
for a quick stop to meet his aunt and uncle and have lunch
then headed south to carmel on the beach
oh my goodness it is gorgeous there!
i had never been
we went to a state park
and as we get out of the guitar he grabs a guitar bag
mind you
i'm not sure he hardly play
have only ever heard one song from him nor do i think he owns one
so we wander out onto the cliff
and the whole time he is saying cute things about how wonderful the day is
and how excited he is to be with me always
then we sit down and he played "i wanna grow old with you"
from the wedding singer
it was perfect, i started bawling 2 lines in
and he got pretty choked up as well
the i gave him this huge kiss and he gets on one knee
and grabs the ring box
told me how ever since he first met me he has thought i was gorgeous
and then we flirted and ever since he has just been crazy about me
he tried to write it down but nothing seemed to do it justice
so he just said he wants to be with me every day forever
and make me happy always
and then asked me to marry him
i kissed him and said "YES! a MILLION TIMES YES!!"
and we took pictures lots...
then headed to this amazing restaurant called Pacific's Edge
he planned it to be right at sunset
and they even gave us special treatment
then we stayed the night at his pampa's house
and went to church the next morning and relaxed all day
so perfect
so wonderful!!
